Anybody? Anybody? Ben Stein on BlogTalkRadio

November 15, 2007

His part of the boring teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was recently ranked one of the fifty most famous scenes in American film. Hear Ben Stein LIVE for yourself today.

Stein Ben will join SpouseBUZZ Radio on BlogTalkRadio at 2:30pm ET today to talk about his new book “The Real Stars: In Today’s America, Who Are the True Heroes?” as well as his deep appreciation for the military.

Ben Stein can be seen talking about finance on Fox TV news every week. From 1997 to 2002, he was the host of the Comedy Central quiz show, “Win Ben Stein’s Money.” The show has won seven Emmies. He has written about finance for Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal for decades and contributes regularly to the AARP’s Modern Maturity (now AARP: The Magazine).

He was one of the chief busters of the junk bond frauds of the 1980s, has been a long-time critic of corporate executives’ self-dealing, and has written several self-help books about personal finance.

Why BlogTalkRadio Works - A Testimonial

November 15, 2007

Anyone who’d been paying attention to media knows that it’s fracturing into tiny bits. Now, with a few clicks of a mouse, I can be transported to a community that shares the same interests I do. The Internet and new media tools like blogs, podcasts and social radio have made building a community around niche topics simple and free of geographical constraint.

With such niche content spread all over, there is surely someone who shares your passion. But suppose there isn’t one blog or podcast that interests you. Or maybe you think you can do better.

THEN YOU CAN. Produce your own show on BlogTalkRadio.

But don’t take my word for it. We stumbled upon this post titled The Blogtalkradio Service” from The Speculist, the blog for the FastForward Radio show, where Phil Bowermaster and Stephen Gordon take an optimistic look at the future. In his post, Stephen details three reasons he recommends BlogTalkRadio:

  1. It’s Free: no hosting fee or bandwidth charges
  2. It’s Live: greater interaction with the audience
  3. No Startup costs: if you’ve got a phone and a computer, you’re set

I encourage you to read the whole post, Stephen’s clearly been around the block and has some stories to share.

And that’s why BlogTalkRadio works. Anyone can host a show. We provide you with the tools to share your interests, to voice your opinions, and to speak your mind. So what’s stopping you?

Oh, and Stephen, one more thing. The mp3s can also be downloaded right there from your host page. ;-)

WordPress Founding Developer Matt Mullenweg on BlogTalkRadio

November 15, 2007

Update: While we confirmed this interview this morning and Matt was scheduled to call in to our show, he never called in. We tried to reach his office during the show and there was no answer. We apologize for this inconvenience; however, there is little we can do when a guest does not keep the commitment. In the meantime, check out other great tech shows at the Best of BTR.

I’m writing on a WordPress blog now, and you are reading a WordPress blog.

mullenweg_matt.jpgWe use countless innovations and technologies on the internet everyday, but rarely do we talk to the man behind the idea.

Today we’ll interview Matt Mullenweg, the founding developer of WordPress personal publishing software, the very software that enables me and many others to blog and get their views out in the world.

Matt joins The Alan Levy Show at 2pm ET to discuss his background, experiences with his company Automattic, and views on the current state of the Web.

Don’t miss this interview with one of the pioneers of blogging software.
