Ken Pavia, Mixed Martial Arts agent, joins 5th Round Beat Down tonight at 11pm ET.
Pavia is one of the biggest MMA sports agents in the biz and currently has over 50 fighters under him. I think The Pav said it best when he said:
Representing athletes is my calling.
It is my profession
It is my obsession
When I am not working it is my hobby
A fighter interests are served best by me
PERIOD.
I love to negotiate.
But then again everyone has a plan.

There are dozens and dozens of podcast directories that cover every category you can think of. The question remains: Is your show listed there? Probably not. So let’s cover the other big questions in this popular Q & A format.
What is a podcast directory? A podcast directory is - follow me closely - a directory of podcasts. Since all our live shows are archived and available as podcasts through RSS feeds, you can include your show in these directories at no cost.
Why should I submit my show to a podcast directory? Listeners, man. We’re all looking for ways to increase our audiences. Podcast directories are where some people go to find shows that interest them. That could be your show.
How do I submit my show to a podcast directory? Do a quick search on each site to see if your show is already listed. If not, submit it. Submission varies for each site, but the simple answer is this: you register to the site, find the “submit your podcast” link and enter your information. One of two things can then happen a) you have to enter all of your information by hand including your show name, description of your show, your logo and your feed or b) you just enter your feed and it populates everything for you. Your feed URL is simply your host page with /feed after it. For example http://www.blogtalkradio.com/MyShowName/feed.
What directories are there? Here are a few to get you started.
What other tips do you have? Keep in mind that people who find your show through a podcast directory are only getting half the experience. Since most podcasts are not live, listeners may not know that catching your live show is an option. So at least once mention that your show is live and announce the time, date and URL when and where your show can be found.

Marty Thau, American rock ‘n’ roll entrepreneur and music producer, joins Blog Critics Radio tonight at 9pm ET to talk about his upcoming memoir, “The Red Star Chronicles.”
Join hosts Phillip Winn and Eric Olsen LIVE tonight at 9pm ET on BC Radio. Thau is best known as the founder of Red Star Records in 1977, arguably America’s first post ‘60s indie punk/new wave label. He’s also known for being the manager of the New York Dolls and co-producer of Suicide’s classic self-titled album.
After the Dolls disbanded in 1975 Thau entered New York’s underground demimonde and was integral to the scene’s development as a spawning ground of punk-new wave stars. He is acknowledged as such in the Encyclopedia of Record Producers, a Billboard Magazine reference book that lists the 500 most important record producers in music history and behind the scenes heroes of popular music.
In addition to the Dolls, he worked with the Ramones, Blondie, Brian Setzer and Richard Hell & The Voidoids,
and produced Suicide, the Real Kids, the Fleshtones, Martin Rev and Walter Steding for his Red Star Records label.

Baratunde Thurston has been nominated for the Bill Hicks Award for Thought Provoking Comedy, featured in the New York Underground Comedy Festival and declared a Champion of the First Amendment by Iowa State University. He has appeared in media outlets such as C-SPAN, The Washington Times, public radio and Fox News Boston. His blog recently won the judge’s vote for the 2007 Black Weblog Awards.
Dr. Chris Bell, self-proclaimed “Black man, poet, essayist, educationist, novelist, retired army Major, Doctor of Education (ED.D.), and Unitarian Universalist.” He is also known for being one of the first black officers in the army after it was integrated under Truman.
Wayne Bennett is author of the Field Negro blog and various articles on child support and children’s issues. Mr. Bennett is currently involved with various community groups such as Philadelphia Reads, Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia, and the Police Athletic League. He currently runs his own private legal practice focusing on criminal law.
Afronerd, blogger and host of the Afronerd Radio show on BlogTalkRadio, says his mission it to “debunk the ghetto-ized” image of African-Americans and defend the Black bourgeoisie.
