Hulk Hogan Wants You – to Honor and Remember!

July 3, 2008

In honor of the 1.6 million U.S. military troops who have died in action since America’s founding 232 years ago, BlogTalkRadio is helping to kick off a national campaign to establish an official flag honoring those brave men and women.

On Friday, July 4 at 10 p.m. ET, host Becky Davis will present a special one-hour edition of her show, Military Families Voice of Victory.

Featured on the program will be George Lutz of Chesapeake, Virginia, whose son, Army Cpl. Tony Lutz, was killed by a sniper in Iraq in December 2005. In the wake of that tragedy, which left a widow and two orphaned children, Lutz created an “Honor and Remember” flag to commemorate all U.S. troops who have died in action.

And in May, Lutz launched HonorAndRemember.org to house his growing local petition to persuade Congress to enact a motion declaring the flag the official symbol of fallen soldiers.

Yesterday, pro-wrestling legend Hulk Hogan added his name to Lutz’s online petition, bringing the number of signatures to date to 3,056. Country-music star Darryl Worley has also signed the petition.

“The Honor and Remember program is very, very cool,” said Hogan.

In all, Lutz is aiming to gather 1.6 million signatures on the petition, which listeners across America will be invited to sign during the BTR special, and throughout the summer.

But you don’t have to wait ‘til Independence Day to support this patriotic cause; do like Hulk and pen the petition ASAP!
