Corroborating his claim that estranged gal pal Karrine “Supahead” Steffans attacked his car last month, Darius McCrary has released to BlogTalkRadio exclusive images of what he says is the actual altercation.
And today, the Family Matters star spoke with us about his ongoing domestic-abuse dispute with Steffans.
“I hope Karrine gets help. She might need to be committed,” McCrary told Dawn Olsen, host of BlogTalkRadio’s GlossLip Radio.
In August 2007, Steffans filed a report with the L.A.P.D. claiming McCrary “choked her ‘til she passed out.” Though the case was dropped, the couple’s relationship remained stormy in the ensuing months.
On June 5, 2008, the Confessions of a Video Vixen author reportedly went looking for McCrary after not seeing him for several days. When she found him in the garage below the L.A. recording studio where he was cutting a new album, he backed up over her in his car and ran over her foot, she claimed in a police report.
But that same day, an L.A. Superior Court judge issued a temporary restraining order against Steffans, in which McCrary said he never hit her with his car. Rather, Steffans “jumped on the trunk of my car and then the roof of my car. She started beating my vehicle and windows,” as well as used “her fist” to try to and break through his windshield.
“Karrine really scared me that night. She went crazy – and caused substantial damage to my car,” McCrary tells BlogTalkRadio.
Now, BlogTalkRadio has obtained images (below) from a security-camera video that McCrary says back up his story about the June 5 altercation. McCrary also says the video will be entered as evidence in a Burbank Civil Court hearing today, at which he is expected to be issued a permanent restraining order against Steffans.
“Throughout this whole ordeal, she Karrine has been trying to drum up attention for herself by putting lies out there online,” says McCrary. “While I have always gone through the proper legal channels, and treated Karrine with nothing but love, she has handled her business differently – by creating situations that do not reflect the truth. Her allegations have no merit at all.
“I’m breaking my silence now for the first time in order to clear my name and let people know that Karrine’s claims are completely false,” says the actor.
“I never beat up Karrine, but because of her allegations, I have lost a number of acting-job opportunities,” he adds.
“Mrs. Steffans has no comment pending the outcome of Mr. McCrary’s battery case with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, stemming from this incdent. Nor does she have knowledge of any restraining orders or subsequent hears today or on any other date,” said Steffans’ rep.
