I use various social media sites to help promote BlogTalkRadio segments and services and I know many of our hosts do too.
I often hear from hosts who are unsure of how to take advantage of social media sites, or which sites are the best for their segments or niches.
Here’s something that can help!
Chris Brogan has assembled an awesome list of 20 Free eBooks About Social Media. Some of these are obviously for blogs, but that doesn’t mean you can’t read them for marketing ideas. Others such as the Podcst Marketing eBook or the Geeks Guide to Promoting Yourself with Twitter are sure to be helpful.
If you find yourself with some free time, do check it out. You may find some great tips for bringing in the masses.

Remember Where’s Waldo? – the picture-book game where you had to locate that British bloke named Waldo?
Well, here’s your chance to play Where’s Blogo, a new game whose object is to locate the BlogTalkRadio logo as it popped up last night during the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

(The REAL question is: Where's CNN?)
The widely televised BTR appearance arose as Iowa delegate Jacob Profl cast The Hawkeye State’s votes for Barack Obama.
For a better look at the Blogo terrain, click here and begin searching around 23:00.
Extra points if you can name the intrepid BTR correspondent who helped “thrust” us into history.

You know you’ve arrived as a major source for news and more when your hosts are invited to cover major events. BlogTalkRado is proud to announce a couple of our hosts attended and broadcasted from the Democratic National Convention in Denver this week. In addition to these broadcasts, many of our political hosts offered armchair coverage.
I’m pleased to bring you highlights of the DNC by our BlogTalkRadio hosts.
- Shaun Daily has been broadcasting live from the DNC every day. To hear Shaun’s segments, interviews and perspectives listen to Live from the Event.
- Nikki Starr, Media Lizzy and Shaun Daily are Rocking the Politics and this week the topic, of course, is the DNC.
- The Clinton4McCain radio show is also featuring discussion and analysis from the convention.
I know many of our political talk show hosts had plenty to say about the 2008 Democratic National Convention. If I missed your segment, do feel free to share in the comments.
Rock on,
Deb

Thanks to Eric SanInocencio, host of BlogTalkRadio’s Baseball Digest Daily Live, the Washington Nationals now know how smoking-hot minor-league pitcher Aaron Crow wound up in Texas instead of our nation’s capital.
Breaking his silence for the first time since rejecting the team’s $3.5 million offer on Aug. 15 – and signing with the American Association’s Fort Worth Cats – Crow explained why he decided to go indy league rather than jumping into the majors.

Mr. Crow doesn’t go to Washington - and tells BTR why.
“I realized I’ll be better off in a better situation next year. So I was kind of content with how it was going in the end. I kind of knew nothing was going to get worked out, so I realized I’d be better off [going back into the draft] next year. I kind of made my peace with that,” Aaron told Eric in the August 23 interview – which was cited by The Washington Times and throughout the blogosphere.
“Honestly, I just hope for a better situation [next year] than it was with Washington,” the 20-year-old right-hander from the University of Missouri also told Eric, who writes for FantasyPlayers.com’s BaseballDigestDailyLive.com.
“The way they dealt and handled everything, the way they talked to me and my family… I think any of the 29 other teams would have handled it better. I’m just really looking to get into a better situation than I was dealing with the Nationals.”

We’re so excited we can hrdlee tipe strrrate…
See!
That’s what happens when The Daily Mix is brimming with a gig of our favorite stars – like it is again this week.
Coming to you as always at 9 p.m. ET, this star-studded show answers such all-important questions as:

“It’s really trippy when people that I idolize are fans of mine,” Margaret Cho tells BlogTalkRadio.
—Why Gilbert Gottfried is feeling “awkward” about his 13-month-old daughter. (Hint: The fact that she’s a “squinter” – like her daddy – is just half the problem.)
—How Kirk Cameron landed the lead in the new feature film Fireproof. (Hint: Bobby De Niro would be proud.)
—Which legendary rock star is as big a fan of funny lady Margaret Cho as she is of his.
—What Barry Bostwick – along with thousands of extras – was restricted from doing on the set of the upcoming Miley Cyrus flick.
—What Rosanna Arquette did 25 years ago that recently embarrassed the dickens out of her 13-year-old daughter Zoe.
—What Crispin Glover promises to do in your hometown if you simply email him and ask.
So don’t miss The Mix, hosted by everyone’s favorite pod jockey, Shaun Daily, every Monday at 9 p.m. ET!
