BlogTalkRadio Makes BusinessWeek.com

August 8, 2008

Those of us who are a part of BlogTalkRadio know we have a good thing here. The good news is, the rest of the world is finding out about us too.

Recently, we’ve had mentions in some very worthy publications, including The New York Times. Today, we add BusinessWeek.com to the list!

The article discusses how BTR got its start, our new funding, and how many leading companies are licensing branded stations.

I’ve seen many interviews and articles with CEO and Founder Alan Levy in the two months I’ve worked for BlogTalkRadio, and one thing is always clear: His passion and joy in his radio community shines through -and it’s that passion that will take us far.

The BW article offers an opportunity for readers to comment. I hope you’ll stop by and tell them what BlogTalkRadio means to you!

We’ve come to the end of the week, radio fans, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the line. There’s still so much going on at BlogTalkRadio.

Regulars to BTR know we’re more than just a website hosting radio segments, we’re a social radio community and network. Almost all of our segments feature chats and opportunities to call in, and our hosts would love nothing more than for you to stop by and participate. Stay tuned because we’ll be unveiling more ways for you to interact as a community. And remember, there’s plenty of opportunity to participate here at the BlogTalkRadio blog too! Tell us about your segments or favorite hosts in the comments or ask questions. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll find the person who does!

In the meantime, have some highlights. All times are EDT unless otherwise noted.

  • Buzzworthy Radio is pleased to welcome daytime diva Days of Our Lives Mary Beth Evans. Don’t miss the dish at 11:00 a.m.
  • Underground dance music artist DJ Freddy Fresh is visiting Radio Free Nation this evening at 10:00p.m.
  • Join Golf.com Radio’s Tommy Dee and Jessica Marksbury as they chat about all the action at Oakland Hills with on site writers and editors from GOLF.com and Sports Illustrated  at 10:00 a.m.
  • BTR’s own Nikki Star is going to turn you on to some great music while you play the picture game. That’s right, it’s my favorite day…Causual Friday on Nikki Rocks the Politics! Be there or be square at 10:00 a.m.
  • Another member of the BTR team is hosting a segment this morning. Add a little humor with our own Kris Smith and Life in the Can. 10:00 a.m.

Good thing all of these segements are available on demand immediately after the live broadcast, so don’t worry about missing one show because it’s the same time as another.

Here’s a few more:

  • Dangerous Lee and her sidekick HP are talking with Jason and Taye from season 3 of Making the Band, catch it at 8:00 p.m.

Nicholle Tom

Nicholle Tom

You remember her as adorable teen Maggie Sheffield on The Nanny and Ryce Newton in the Beethoven flicks.

But now she’s all grown up – and dating an up-and-coming Hollywood hunk!

Paul McCarthy-Boyington

Earlier this week on Olivia Wilder Times, host Olivia Wilder was chatting with Nicholle Tom about the statuesque actress’ height when Nicholle mentioned her beau – who also stands 5-foot-7.

Intrigued, Olivia pressed Nicholle, 30, for a name and out it came: Paul McCarthy-Boyington.

TV fans know Paul from guest spots on such hit series as Alias, Crossing Jordan and The West Wing, but he’s also got a few feature films on the horizon.

Nice catch, Nicholle!
