Pippert Prevails in Round 1 of Battle for America’s Top Blog Talker

Pippert: Triumphant talker.

Julie Pippert of Houston pummeled fellow Heading Left host Lynne Lupien of Lowell, Mass., yesterday in Round One of Battle of the Blog Talkers – the weeklong FOX News Radio tournament to determine the best BlogTalkRadio talkers from each side of the political spectrum.

Julie’s victory (decided by listeners voting via mobile-text message and an online poll) was announced today by FOX News Radio anchor Spencer Hughes during Round 2 of the competition, on Fox Across America, which is hosting the historic debate series.

“As a writer, I never expected to get involved in radio, but I’ve found a new love. BlogTalkRadio enables me and my fellow MOMocrats to host discussions that people around the world can hear,” Julie tells us. “Now when we mention our BlogTalkRadio show to political leaders we’d like to interview, frequently they say, ‘I know Blog Talk Radio.’”

Tonight we’ll tell you what topic tomorrow’s Heading Left contestants will be tussling over, and tomorrow we’ll tell you the name of the Heading Right victor in today’s competition.  (Don’t worry - it’s simpler than it sounds.)

So don’t touch that mouse under any circumstances.

Has there been a fundamental shift in the Republican party – as evid- enced by the fact that most GOP leaders voted nay on the $700 bil- lion Wall Street bailout?

And tomorrow, Heading Left moves into Round 3, as David McLaughlin of Rome, Ga., takes on Tom D’Antoni of Portland, Ore., in an East-West coastal collision you do not want to miss.
