July 9, 2007

COnnie Bennet Author of Sugar Shock that went to number 6 on Amazon starts her show Tuesday at 6 PM EST

Taken from Connie’s bio on her website as I couldnt have said it any better………

I’m an “Ex Sugar Shrew!” (as I jokingly call myself) and experienced journalist, who has written the book SUGAR SHOCK! to dish the dirt about the dark side of sugars and refined carbs. My goal now is to help millions stomp out their sugar habit so they can improve their health and moods by controlling their sugar intake and blood sugar levels.

The Haunted Side of BlogTalkRadio

July 8, 2007

BlogTalkRadio has always been a great outlet for the people in the paranormal world. Since day one we have been giving ghost hunters, big foot fantatics, and psychics a place to let the world hear about what is going on in their world, or in another world….if your a ghost hunter or psychic.

BlogTalkRadio would like to welcome Rick Fisher to the platform, Rick is a paranormal expert, author, and field researcher. Rick has been on The Travel Channel on the popular show Supernatural Destinations. Rick was even approached to be on a special haunted version of Survivor, which he turned down due to scheduling conflicts. Ricks show is booked up until October already with special guests and you can tune in to hear him Mondays at 6 pm.

You can read the full article about Rick on Lancaster Online here.

BlogTalkRadio Turns Nigerian Youth Into Citizen Broadcasters

July 1, 2007

Concept of Change aired this weekend. What makes Concept of Change so special? Its done by Jennifer a young woman who does her show from Nigeria. Jennifer has no internet or computer, she goes to the local cyber cafe to do her show with friends. Alan Levy CEO of BlogTalkRadio met Jennifer while in the UK after he was asked by the British Council to show BlogTalkRadio to the young adults chosen to compete to go to the World Economics Forum.

Since Jennifers show went live on BlogTalkRadio we have had a small surge of young people from Nigeria sign up to get their shows going on BlogTalkRadio. When Alan Levy formed the idea of BlogTalkRadio, it was his idea to allow each and every person to have a voice to be heard around the globe that drove him to bring his idea to fruitation, . We are honored to have Jennifer on BlogTalkRadio and we welcome the other young adults that have joined the movement on BlogTalkRadio that we have coined “citizen broadcasting”.

You can listen to Jennifers show here.

A Note From The Janitor

June 29, 2007

Over the past few weeks, many of you have encountered scheduling conflicts particularly during prime time. Those of you that have been doing shows on Blogtalkradio for some time, have undoubtedly seen a large increase in the number of shows airing on the network. This past week we hit 170 live shows on one day. With 15 simultaneous streams available at any given time, the network is running very busy.

Our hosts, listeners and great content have been rapidly growing week by week. Personally, I like to look at what the blogosphere is buzzing about Blogtalkradio. For that, I go to Google blogsearch which can be accessed through our press page   http://www.blogtalkradio.com/PressRoom.aspx.  If you link to the Google site, you will see that over 31,000 blog posts have been indexed to “Blogtalkradio”. Cool stuff!!

I am happy to announce that we have added 5 more simultaneous live streams, which brings the total number of live shows at any given time to 20. This increase in streams should at least in the short term reduce scheduling conflicts. Don’t worry we are already planning for 30, 50 and even 100 simultaneous broadcasts.

Finally, we are working feverishly on launching the new site. We are getting close and hope to be there at the end of July. In the meantime, please continue to enjoy Blogtalkradio and encourage others to join the conversation.

Best regards to all

Alan Levy
