Rapper Fat Joe: LeBron James Not Comin’ to the Big Apple

Much as it pains him, Fat Joe says New Yorkers won’t be getting NBA superstar LeBron James any time soon.

Interviewed on H2GRadio, the rap star—who owns a street basketball team called the Terror Squad that plays in Harlem—weighs in on the chances of the New York Knicks snagging the Cleveland Cavaliers forward when his $60 million contract expires at the end the current NBA season, making him a free agent.

"I want somebody to be really, really disgusting in the paint," Fat Joe (above) tells us. "I want a rebounder and I want a dunker!"

“My opinion, as just a fan, I don’t think we getting’ LeBron,” the Get It Poppin’ singer tells host Edgar Burgos.

But in the same breath, he offers alternate picks.

“I would roll up [Phoenix Suns forward] Amare Stoudemire so bad! See, the Knicks ain’t had a guy dunk and break that rim in such a long time, man.

“Who was the best Knick pound for pound in recent teams? Allan Houston had the best gun, but he was like that clean-cut basic player.

We ain’t had nobody since Latrell Sprewell threw that ball down, man! I need some dunkers. I’m tired of the basics. I’m tired of them just walkin’ the ball down the court and just passing,” Fat Joe continues.

Amare Stoudemireand [Miami Heat shooting guard] Dwyane Wade. If we can pull them two off, that’d be real, real, real ugly.”
