Gary Fleder is the director of the upcoming movie Homefront, an action thriller starring Jason Statham, James Franco, and Winona Ryder, and is based on a screenplay by Sylvester Stallone. Wrath of the Kidd talks to Fleder about the movie.
Fleder talks about his choice of Jason Statham for the role, calling it “a transformative role” for him, saying that viewers rarely see him playing a family man. He feels that Statham has “a real twinkle” that other directors, in casting him in “stoic” roles, fail to exploit. Fleder also says that Statham had great chemistry with the other actors, helping to lend his character a more likeable nature.
