The best movies of 2014

Betty Jo Tucker and her cohosts count down their top ten movies of 2013. The Book Thief, 12 Years a Slave, Captain Philips, Lone Survivor, Blackfish, Rush, Mandela, Philomena, American Hustle, and 42 are all selected as favorites. Of Saving Mr. Banks, they say that it was “greatly entertaining, pleasant, funny… it reminded me of my good old days when Walt Disney was around” and a “clean film… there weren’t any explosions in it… it was just a pleasing family movie.” Gravity is called “the most captivating film of the year.
