Back Room Politics on Obamacare and Angela Merkel

The Back Room Politics roundtable discusses the onset of Obamacare and the recent accusations against President Obama of approving the tapping of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s phone. The two issues combined, Bob Hynes claims, constitute that “a Sharknado has hit the White House.” Allen Moore praises the aims of Obamacare but believes that the government should have been more forthcoming about certain aspects of the program.

Of the phone tapping controversy, Hynes claims that, while phone tapping has been widespread since the Bush administration, it is “beyond the pale” to use on allies. Allen Moore, on the other hand, claims that “none of us should be surprised that we all spy on each other.”
