Sure, we know our Fantasy Sports Channel is a one-of-a-kind creation – featuring more than 50 of the most dedicated sportscasters in the biz working seven days a week to bring you more live fantasy-sports programming than anyone on the planet.
And there isn’t a day that goes by when we don’t marvel at the level of knowledge and passion each one of them brings to the fantasy-sports arena.
So it’s nice to know the biz is beginning to notice, too.
Case in point: The Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) has nominated the Fantasy Sport Channel for not one but two of its annual Industry Recognition Awards.
The first nomination comes in the Best Podcast category, which recognizes “the website with the best combination of information and presentation.”
The second is for Specialty Product or Services, which recognizes “the best combination of service, high-quality products and innovation.”
Winners will be announced January 27 at the FSTA Business Conference & Research Symposium in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida.
“With 20 million who play fantasy sport league-type contests in North America, the total market size is estimated at more than $1.5 billion, including sponsorships, endorsements, contest management and advertising,” the FSTA reports.
Launched in September, BlogTalkRadio’s Fantasy Sports Channel features seven hours of live, continuous, original fantasy-sports radio Monday through Friday, and nine hours on Sunday.
In October, Wall Street Journal Television touted the channel for “providing more content than most any site out there,” while calling Phil Eletto and Scott Engel, hosts of the channel’s RotoRadio, “two of the world’s foremost fantasy sports experts.”
