Scott Adams is the creator of the long-running newspaper comic strip Dilbert, which has been running for 24 years. He also recently wrote the book How To Fail At Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Story of My Life, an autobiographical pseudo-self-help volume arguing that failure is not always a bad thing. Tavis Smiley talks to Adams about the book.
Adams says that he “was trying to write the book that I wished I had when I was 25.” Adams talks about a disastrous job interview that he had in college in which he was “so inexperienced” that he showed up to the interview in casual dress and was immediately asked to leave. He believes that the incident is indicative of how “a lot of stuff that seems like common sense really isn’t.”
