If he loses the case, the statirist – whom many Minnesotans are already addressing as “Senator- elect Franken” – won’t be living out his dream of representing the Land of 10,000 Lakes State on Capitol Hill.

But if he wins, the former Saturday Night Live cast- member will follow in the footsteps of one-time clebes like Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Fred Thompson and Fred “Gopher” Grandy who were elected to public office.

Tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on Local Focus, Al drops in on host Marin Owings for a live update on the recount trail.

Also on the show will be St. Paul Pioneer Press political corresponent Rachel Stassen-Berger, who has been covering the trial.
