Here at BlogTalkRadio, we often refer to our many talented hosts as getting “up close and personal” with their celebrated guests.
But Chenese Lewis, host of our ever-poplar PLUS Model Radio, has taken that expression to a whole new level.
As part of her promotional efforts for the National Organization for Women’s Fifth Annual Love Your Body Day—which says “no” to advertisements and images of women that are harmful, offensive, disrespectful and demeaning—Chenese has posed in the buff with Whitney Thompson.
Whitney, of course, made history in 2008 by being the first plus-size model to win America’s Next Top Model. And on Oct. 23, she joins Chenese as celebrity co-host of the Hollywood Chapter of NOW’s Love Your Body Day.
Both models will help raise awareness for organizations that help individuals with eating disorders—Whitney as an ambassador for the National Eating Disorder Association and Chenese as an ambassador for the Binge Eating Disorder Association.
During Whitney’s most recent PLUS Model Radio appearance, she told us:
“I’m promoting Healthy Is Beautiful. It’s not a weight. It’s not a size. It’s not a number. It’s a state of mind. It’s a state of well-being.”
She also commented on her PLUS Model Magazine cover.
“I really like it because it looks like me,” Whitney said. “A lot of times plus models use pads, stick stuff in to look bigger, airbrush stuff out to look smaller.
“But I love PLUS Model Magazine because it’s me—that’s the truth, that’s Whitney.”
