Taylor Lautner‘s big-screen big bro is none too pleased that the Twilight star has buffed up big-time.
Interviewed on WZAP Internet Radio, Robbie Amell—who now plays Keke Palmer‘s love interest on True Jackson, VP—recalls meeting up with Taylor recently, four years after they starred together as two of the four Murtaugh brothers in Cheaper by The Dozen 2.
“I saw him recently at the Teen Vogue party. And I immediately walked up, and I was like, ‘OK, who’s stronger? Who’s bigger?’” Robbie tells host Zachary Sang.
“Because he always used to make fun of me for—I was a big musclehead when I was shooting Cheaper, because I was still playing hockey. And whenever I had a chance, I was working out or playing football with Taylor.
“So I went walking up, and he’s two or three years younger than me, but he’s almost bigger than me. So I’m like, ‘You little rat! How could you do this? You put on, like, 20 pounds since I saw you last. This is ridiculous!’”
But as it turns out, Robbie’s rage was just in jest.
“[Taylor]‘s still the same. He’s still the nicest kid. He’s taken his success very well,” he adds. “It hasn’t messed with him. It hasn’t changed him.”
As for Twilight, however, Robbie isn’t joking when he knocks the character played by Taylor’s co-star Rob Pattinson.
“When [Edward] steps into the sunlight and he sparkles, that’s not supposed to happen. He’s a vampire. He’s supposed to burn—and die!” he says.
“I grew up watching vampire movies, like Interview with a Vampire, with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
“Now, that is a vampire movie,” adds Robbie—who says he’s definitely “Team Jacob.”
