You Were The Stars Last Night

August 16, 2007

Last night’s anniversary show went flawlessly and was a red carpet event that showcased many of our hosts on BlogTalkRadio. Starting the show was Alan Levy and Bob Charish, founders of BlogTalkRadio and they are also two of the most wonderful people I have had the honor of working with. The 2 hours and 15 minute show was jam packed with call after call, and we barely got time to do anything but take them.

Employee’s, family, and friends are just part of the laundry list of people who joined us.

Host after host rang the line and we here at BlogTalkRadio are so very blessed to be surrounded the overwhelming support and passion that our hosts feel for BlogTalkRadio. We that work here have that passion and saw last night how it has carried over to all of you.

Here is a list of some of the people who called in last night.

We want to thank you all for making this past year the best of our lives, and most importantly to us those who know Alan, we are humbled and honored to be part of helping this vision you had come to life in the most extraudinary way.

Read/WriteWeb

August 10, 2007

Read/WriteWeb is one of the blogs we regularly follow as Josh is on top of all the latest and greatest on the web.

Last week when perusing the ReadWriteWeb  blog we found Josh Catone’s post on social netcasting .

In response to some of Josh’s comments about social networks lacking simplicity, our CEO Alan Levy offered the opportunity to talk about it. Josh’s post on BlogTalkRadio  highlights some upcoming features which make listening and hosting your own show easier than ever such as our browser call-in capability for users with IE and a microphone headset, live chat with hosts and other listeners, messaging, comments, favorites, ratings and better promotional tools which tap into the million+ per month listener community and world at large. Look for more news on this in the upcoming weeks.

BlogTalkRadio Breaks Another Record Today

August 1, 2007

Today we have surpassed our highest amount of shows with a record 210 shows scheduled to run. I believe our last record was 150, so this is a huge jump in our daily shows.

We attribute it to our wonderful hosts, Bob Charish for tirelessly working to get us up to 20 streams an hour, and our team of host liasons who have been training all the new hosts to start their shows successfully.

So as the Programming Manager I want to thank everyone for helping make BlogTalkRadio be as successful as it has been , and from our CEO Alan Levy who is in flight right now to Chicago to be at the Yearly Kos conference, Alan thanks you all also.

Founder and CEO of Fon.com on The Alan Levy Show

July 24, 2007

I would like to welcome a very special guest to Blogtalkradio on Wednesday, July 25th 4:00pm EST.

Martin Varsavsky the Founder and CEO of Fon.com will be my guest on the Alan Levy Show which can be found here

While it’s hard to believe, I have known Martin for almost 20 years. We met when I was an accountant in NYC at a small accounting firm. Martin, at the time in his twenties, was already an experienced entrepreneur. I handled his business accounts and personal financial matters. In October 1993, when Martin raised money with George Soros for his new upstart telecom company Viatel, he asked me to join he and his team to be his CFO. I had spent 13 years as an accountant and never really gave it much thought to changing careers at that stage of my life.

Well, I decided to leave the safe confines of being an accountant and joined Martin in the crazy world of emerging global telecommunications. I never looked back since. Martin saw something in me that perhaps I or others did not and for that I will always be appreciative.

We will discuss his exciting new venture Fon and whatever else comes up. Martin is a truly fascinating individual so please do tune in. If you would like to call into the live show, please do so by calling 1-347-677-0649.

Alan
