House Fairy Theater: Happy Children, Happy Parents

The Christian Science Monitor posted a neat little clip about BlogTalkRadio this week, featuring one of our newer hosts, The House Fairy.

The post titled “Web Talk” reads:

Talk Radio no longer narrowly confined to radio stations? Or celebrity hosts? Blogtalkradio.com lets anyone with a phone and a computer make their voice heard. The offerings range from politics and entertainment to spirituality and golf. Currently popular with the younger set: a weekly children’s show called “The Adventures of the House Fairy” with a host who resembles Dame Edna.

HouseFairyHouse Fairy Theater is a weekly youth-oriented show based on the simple premise of “Happy children, happy parents,” which as any parent knows is the simple truth.

Who knew that getting children to clean their rooms, make their beds and cooperate with family chores could be so easy and so much fun? You will when you check out the Adventures of the House Fairy today!

Shifty Binzer from Crazy Town and VH1’s Celebrity Rehab

EDITOR’S NOTE: Shifty Binzer returned to BlogTalkRadio on Feb. 25, 2009 for a live interview with World Talk Live! host Brett Cohen. To hear what the Crazy Town frontman had to say, click here.

Seth “Shifty” Binzer, the lead singer from Crazytown who wrote and sang the smash hits “Butterfly” and “Starry Eyed Surprise,” will join Jeremy Scott’s 168 Hours of TV today.

Shifty Shifty joins Jeremy Scott today at 6pm ET to give us the scoop on VH1’s new show, “Celebrity Rehab,” which premieres this Thursday.

“Celebrity Rehab” is the first television series to chronicle the dramatic, unscripted real life experiences of a group of actual celebrities as they make the life-changing decision to enter themselves into a drug, alcohol and addiction treatment program with the sincere desire to achieve true rehabilitation and recovery. This compelling true account of addiction, healing, and redemption is being supervised with great compassion and insight by renowned addiction and recovery expert Dr. Drew Pinsky, Medical Director of the Department of Chemical Dependency Services at Southern California’s Las Encinas Hospital, and host of the long-running radio and television advice series LOVELINE”.

Also, on the show, American Gladiators and the return of Letterman, Leno, Kimmel, Conan and Ferguson to late-night television – without their writers. Join the conversation tonight via chat and phone to air your thoughts.

Healthy Holiday Eating – Even for Kids

Is it possible to not overdose your kids (and yourself) on sweets and treats this holiday season? Many people don’t think so, but it can be done. You just need a little know-how.

SmartFoods Motherhood Uncensored will host special guest Kelly Corbet of Smart Foods Healthy Kids tonight at 9pm ET.

Consider these statistics from Corbet’s website:

  • This is the first “modern” generation the Centers for Disease Control predicts will have shorter lifespan than their parents
  • Today in the US, one in fifteen kids under three-years-old has a food allergy
  • Children born after 2000 have ridiculously huge chances of developing diabetes.

Join them tonight to get the skinny on how to eat healthy and still have fun this holiday season.
