For a guy known to millions as a curmudgeonly news director, Ed Asner sure has a positive outlook on our nation’s working population.
Interviewed on Miss-takes, the actor who played Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show chats about the life lessons he’s learned in his 53 years in the biz.
“Always look for the simple fact of what we all need: Love. Security. Interesting activities. Employment that we enjoy, that we take pride in,” he tells host Rick Tocquigny vis-a-vis the art of storytelling.
“When people talk about welfare cheats, yea, they exist, but they’re such a minority. The vast body of people, in my opinion, want a job that they can be proud of; they want a job that they can work at.
