Scott Patterson on George Steinbrenner: Yankees’ Farm Team Way Key to Bronx Bombers’ Success (Though Not for Me)

Though Scott Patterson never got to play in the House that Ruth Built, he still acknowledges the Powerhouse Franchise that The Boss Built.

Interviewed on Olivia Wilder Times, the Gilmore Girls star—who spent four years pitching for the N.Y. Yankees’ farm team in the ‘80s—recalls team owner George “The Boss” Steinbrenner, who passed away Tuesday at age 80.

CAPTION: "I didn't really get the shot that I felt I deserved," Scott (above) tells us of the Yankee's MLB club.

"I didn't really get the shot that I felt I deserved," Scott (above) tells us of not getting put in the Yanks' MLB lineup.

“I liked George and he liked me, and I didn’t really have a ghost of a chance of making that team because [Yankees coach] Billy [Martin] brought in so many pitchers from Oakland with him,” Scott tells host Olivia Wilder.

“George liked how I pitched, he put me in the program that they sell at Yankee Stadium, so I had something going on. We had a couple of talks.

“There was a lot of frustration in that organization and only when [George] stepped back a little bit and let the baseball people do their thing, like Gene Michael—who’s a baseball genius—did Continue reading

CAPTION: "I'm so proud of him for maintaining his values throughout his sentence," Alexandra (above) tells us of Jonathan.

"I'm so proud of him for maintaining his values throughout his sentence," Alexandra (above) tells us of Jonathan.

“My mother just saw him last weekend. I saw him a couple of weeks ago. And he can call his wife a certain amount each month,” she tells Olivia Wilder Times host Olivia Wilder of Jonathan, now 43, who two years ago was sentenced to 51 months on conspiracy and arson charges after pleading guilty to setting a 1997 fire that destroyed the Cavel West horse slaughterhouse in Redmond, Ore.

“He reads a ton. And he teaches spinning and boot camp in prison. So I joke with him, I say, Continue reading

Former ‘House Hunters’ Host Suzanne Whang to HGTV: My Fans Would Beg to Differ That I’m Dispensable

Oh, Snaps! Olivia ‘Rules’ with Tears for Fears Pose

If Fruit Salad hosts Pauly and Marky are our undisputed Snaps! champs, Olivia Wilder is quickly coming up the rear.

In recent months, the Olivia Wilder Times host has buddied up to Titanic star Billy Zane and Chelsea Lately host Chelsea Handler.

CAPTION: "He came right up to me and gave me a big bear hug," Olivia (l) says of Curt (r).

"He came right up to me and gave me a big bear hug," Olivia (l) says of Curt (r).

And last week, at the Tears for Fears concert in Saratoga, Calif., she got cozy with frontman Curt Smith (who, incidentally, had appeared on her show one month earlier).

“He’s such a warm, friendly and genuinely nice guy,” Olivia tells us of the British rocker, best known for his 1985 hit Everybody Wants to Rule the World. “It was a great concert and wonderful time.”

Billy Zane: ‘I’m Ready for Fatherhood’

CAPTIONS: “I feel the family brewing,” Billy (above) tells us.

“I feel the family brewing,” Billy (above) tells us.

Billy Zane may not be hearing wedding bells, but he is sensing the pangs of parenthood.

Interviewed on BlogTalkRadio’s Olivia Wilder Times, the Titanic star, 43, hints that he’s pondering trading in his bachelor ways for a bassinet.

When a caller into the show asks, “Do you have kids and a family?” Billy replies:

“No children. And am not married at present. Was married when I was quite young, and I’m single right now – and kind of loving it. I hear the patter of little feet.

“But I foresee that – I sense it, I feel it, I feel it coming,” adds the actor, whose latest flick, Love N’ Dancing, opens May 8.

Moments later, when host Olivia Wilder asks Billy if he’s got a potential mommy in mind, he says:

“No. It’s just a sense that you get. I think I’m ready for fatherhood.

CAPTIONS: “We’re still quite close,” Billy says of Kelly (with him above, pre-split). “We’re good friends.”

“We’re still quite close,” Billy says of Kelly (with him above, pre-split). “We’re good friends.”

“But I’m not out there hunting for my bride – as of yet.”

Last year, Billy reportedly broke up with his fiancée, British model Kelly Brook, after a five-year, on-again, off-again romance.

About that relationship, he confirms that the split is a “done deal,” though when asked if Kelly may be on his mommy-target list, Billy simply says:

“That’s not really anything I care to discuss with you – or the world.”

Oh, Snaps! Olivia Lands a ‘Titanic’ Photo Op

Heads up, Pauly, Olivia Wilder‘s moving in on your snaps action – and with a bona fide screen idol to boot!

At the Phoenix Film Festival in (where else?) Phoenix, Ariz., last week, the Olivia Wilder Times host chilled with Billy Zane.

Billy of course played Cal Hockley in the 1997 blockbuster Titanic, which earned a whopping $1.85 billion at the box office, making it the high- est-grossing film of all time.

"I almost broke the camera, but Billy (l) looked great," Olivia (r) tells us of this pic.

And next month he’ll be seen opposite Amy Smart in a new swing- dance flick called Love N’ Dancing.

The writer of that project, Tom Malloy, whom you know from his on- camera work on Law & Order-SVU, also stars in the movie. So Olivia didn’t waste any time cozying up to him, either.

In fact, she made such a good impression on Tom that he’ll be appear- ing on her show Friday, April 24.

Nice going, O!

Paris Hilton’s BFF Brittany Flickinger Picks New OFF

If Brittany Flickinger’s BFF-ship with Paris Hilton doesn’t pan out, the singer won’t be a bit peeved.

How come?

CAPTION: “Brittany can trust me in every situation,” Kathrin (above) tells us of her new OFF.

“Brittany can trust me in every situation,” Kathrin (above) tells us of her new OFF.

Because she has a new BFF – at least in cyberspace.

This week on Olivia Wilder Times, host Olivia Wilder wrapped up her month-long Brittany Flickinger’s New OFF (as in “Online Friend Forever”) contest, in which hundreds of listeners from around the globe each submitted 10 reasons why they deserve the OFF title.

After narrowing the pack to five semi-finalists last week, Brittany – who won her BFF title in December on MTV’s reality series Paris Hilton’s My New BFF – selected…

(CUE DRUMROLL)

Kathrin Tilp, who hails from Frankfurt, Germany.

Among Kathrin’s winning reasons were:

(8) I would accept Brittany’s mistakes, because nobody is perfect. ;-)

(6) We both love cereal.

(4) I think that Brit is an awesome and honest person.

(2) I don’t care that the call will be not that cheap. ;-)

(1) I get up at 4 a.m. to listen to Olivia’s show on BlogTalkRadio.

Brittany (above): Ich bin ein Frankfurter.

So what does Kathrin actually win?

A blog post about her, along with her photo, on Brittany’s MySpace page; an autographed picture of Brittany; and a personal email correspondence with Brittany – “as often as humanly possible.”

And in the coming weeks, Kathrin gets an entire ed- ition of Olivia Wilder Times devoted to her.

In the meantime, here’s what Kathrin, a 24-year- old business student, tells us about her daily life in Deutschland:

“When not at school, I work for a car-rental company, where I drive the big cars around.

“I love sports and cartoons, as well as indie and alternative music.”
