BlogTalkRadio Draws Authors

Publishers Weekly covers BlogTalkRadio’s draw for publishers and authors in an article by Calvin Reid posted last week.

pw.jpgWe’ve talked about BlogTalkRadio and our Digital Podium in the past. In fact, we mentioned it not once, but twice.

Calvin Reid wrote a detailed article about BlogTalkRadio entitled “Blog Radio Site Draws Authors” that sums up how publishers and authors can use BlogTalkRadio to their advantage:

Levy was quick to note the importance of books on BTR, which offers a daily update of featured authors either hosting their own shows or being interviewed on the network…

BTR offers opportunities to promote authors,” Levy said. “Writers can do an online tour right from their own homes and publishers can create their own branded shows.” Levy is in discussions with traditional book publishers to use the service and has already signed several online publishers like BlogCritics.org, an online journal on pop culture that is syndicated to national newspaper sites, including the Boston Globe. BlogCritics publisher Eric Olsen said that after using the service for a month, “we’re extremely happy with BTR. It’s super easy to use.”

…Levy said BTR is “perfect for publishers looking to connect with their audience. Our hosts can engage people from around the world.”

The Digital Podium in Action

The Digital Podium is, indeed, alive and well here on BlogTalkRadio. Today’s “authorian” guest list is a testament to it.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s post about the Digital Podium, today we feature three authors on the network. Experts in their field and eager to share their stories and knowledge, we welcome them to BlogTalkRadio on behalf of their gracious hosts.

First up, at 12:00pm ET today the infertility and adoption show Creating a Family host Dawn Davenport welcomes Deborah Gray, a clinical social worker specializing in attachment issues and author of the book “Attaching in Adoption.” Issues ranging from what to expect when you are first home, what is normal, what is worrisome behavior, what parents can do to help with attachment, and how to tell if your child is at risk.

Tonight at 8pm ET the KarmaCaffe Spiritual Hour welcomes author of “Guided Meditation: With Steven S. Sadleir,” “The Calling: A Journey Within Your Own Being” and the “Meditation Tool Kit Course” CD set, Steven Sadleir. Steven is the Director and co-founder of the Self Awareness Institute. Mr. Sadleir is a scholar and lecturer of philosophy.

And then at 9pm ET, Motherhood Uncensored’s host Kristen Chase welcomes the authors of “The Daring Book for Girls” as it rolls hot off the presses. Authors Andi Buchanan and Miriam Peskowitz will join Kristen and bloggers Punditmom and Bitsy Parker about this popular title, described as “the manual for everything that girls need to know—and that doesn’t mean sewing buttonholes! Whether it’s female heroes in history, secret note-passing skills, science projects, friendship bracelets, double dutch, cats cradle, the perfect cartwheel or the eternal mystery of what boys are thinking…”

BlogTalkRadio – The Digital Podium

BlogTalkRadio is quickly becoming a hotspot for publishers and authors to get information about books and other printed works to interested parties. But don’t take my word for it, ask Joe Wikert.

Podium BlogTalkRadio CEO Alan Levy did an interview with Joe Wikert that was posted to Joe Wikert’s Publishing 2020 Blog: A Book Publisher’s Future Visions of Print, Online, Video and All Media Formats Not Yet Invented.

Alan and Joe explore the uses of BlogTalkRadio as a medium for publishers and authors in Joe’s aptly titled post “BlogTalkRadio Interview with Alan Levy.” Here, we call it the Digital Podium. I invite you to take a second to read Joe’s informative post.
