We’ve come to the end of the week, radio fans, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the line. There’s still so much going on at BlogTalkRadio.

Regulars to BTR know we’re more than just a website hosting radio segments, we’re a social radio community and network. Almost all of our segments feature chats and opportunities to call in, and our hosts would love nothing more than for you to stop by and participate. Stay tuned because we’ll be unveiling more ways for you to interact as a community. And remember, there’s plenty of opportunity to participate here at the BlogTalkRadio blog too! Tell us about your segments or favorite hosts in the comments or ask questions. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll find the person who does!

In the meantime, have some highlights. All times are EDT unless otherwise noted.

  • Buzzworthy Radio is pleased to welcome daytime diva Days of Our Lives Mary Beth Evans. Don’t miss the dish at 11:00 a.m.
  • Underground dance music artist DJ Freddy Fresh is visiting Radio Free Nation this evening at 10:00p.m.
  • Join Golf.com Radio‘s Tommy Dee and Jessica Marksbury as they chat about all the action at Oakland Hills with on site writers and editors from GOLF.com and Sports Illustrated  at 10:00 a.m.
  • BTR’s own Nikki Star is going to turn you on to some great music while you play the picture game. That’s right, it’s my favorite day…Causual Friday on Nikki Rocks the Politics! Be there or be square at 10:00 a.m.
  • Another member of the BTR team is hosting a segment this morning. Add a little humor with our own Kris Smith and Life in the Can. 10:00 a.m.

Good thing all of these segements are available on demand immediately after the live broadcast, so don’t worry about missing one show because it’s the same time as another.

Here’s a few more:

  • Shift Radio has the Code Monkeys! Chris Melissinos is joined by Matt Mariska, one of the creators of the popular show “Code Monkeys” on G4TV. We will talk about Matt’s background with games, inspiration for the show and more. (NOTE: This is their first ‘Mature’ rated show. The fun begins at noon.
  • Dangerous Lee and her sidekick HP are talking with Jason and Taye from season 3 of Making the Band, catch it at 8:00 p.m.

I was just having a small discussion on Twitter about how you’re never alone with BlogTalkRadio. Because I work alone out of my home, I appreciate a little conversation now and then. I know of some work at homes who have the radio or television on for “background noise.” I do the same with BlogTalkRadio. Plus, in many cases I can become part of the conversation because most of our programs enable chat. I can even call in and give my opinion if I want to. If your place of employment allows you to listen to the radio while you work, you might also consider BlogTalkRadio. There are programs in all genres ranging from business to real estate, from politics to music. Get the whole cube farm in on the conversation!

Here are some highlights for today:

Reality Check has a treat for Big Brother fans. Sheila Kennedy from Big Brother 9 is a guest at 11:00 p.m. EST. Sheila’s going to give her perspective on the current season and cast.

Don’t miss MediaLizzy at 3:00 for this exclusive! Almost in synch with the AP, Media Lizzy broke this story: Chief Deputy Republican Whip Eric Cantor has provided the necessary documents to be vetted for Vice President to AB Culvahouse & Team McCain. A few hours later, Politico was on the trail. Lizzy will replay last Friday’s exclusive interview with Eric Cantor, and look at his Conservative Credentials. Matt Wolking of Wolking’s World will be with her as well! Don’t miss it at 3:00 p.m. EST.

On Intel’s Open Port Radio, listen in as your hosts talk with Dave McCray, Intel‘s IT Program Manager. Intel IT is a leader in the activation and use of AMT. They have activated & provisioned over 10k machines – hear how they did it, why they are doing it & how to make your integration better based on Intel IT’s best known methods. The geekery begins at 6:30 pm EST.

International recording artisit Amber is joining JoshCo at 10:00 a.m. EST to discuss her new single.

Don’t miss Golf.com Radio‘s Monday recap. Tommy Dee and Jessica Marksbury discuss the stories from this past weekend and look forward to all the action at the PGA Championship with the writers and editors of GOLF Magazine and Sports Illustrated. 2:00 p.m. EST

The Llanview Lowdown recaps the past week on One Life to Live. 6:30 p.m. EST.

Ever wonder whatever happened to Skppy from the hit series Family Ties? Find out tonight as Skippy himself, Marc Price, drops by to talk about his comedy career. 8:00 p.m. EST.

On the Daily MixShaun Daily brings fast and furious highlights from the past week on BlogTalkRadio. Don’t blink or you’ll mix it. 9:00 pm EST.

This is only a drop in the BTR bucket. Do check out our On Air Schedule for the full listing. And don’t forget…all BTR programming is available on demand after the live broadcast.

What's Going On? Finally Friday Edition!

The Gits' Mia Zapata

The Gits' Mia Zapata

Happy Friday, radio fans.  Do you have great weekend plans? You know, even if you’re away from your laptop you can still listen to great segments. Download your BlogTalkRadio favorites and take them with you!  I like to remind listeners about our in demand programming because I often hear from people who would like to tune in but don’t think they can because they missed the live broadcast. Don’t ever let that deter you from taking in a great segment!

We’re having another one of those days where our “studios” are filled with so much awesome content I don’t know if I have space to mention it all.  I’ll do my darndest though…check out the highlights:

  • Did you know the D.O.D has a regular segment on BlogTalkRadio? That’s right. Today at the Department of Defense Blogger’s Roundtable: More than 100 active and Reserve Sailors and Soldiers, mainly from MDSU-2 Norfolk and the U.S. Army Dive Company from Fort Eustis, Va., have been working since June 1 to raise the former Soviet submarine K-77, also known as Juliet 484. The 1960′s-era Soviet cruise missile submarine-turned-museum sank at the pier during a nor’easter on April 17, 2007. This is worth a listen as the sub has a great history. Today at 9:30 a.m. EST.
  • Don’t miss World Talk Live‘s Seinfeld Special today at 6:00 p.m. EST. Liz Sheridan, who played
    Liz Sheridan with Jerry Seinfeld

    Liz Sheridan with Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry’s mom in the series and Soup Nazi Larry Thomas are coming by to answer questions and reminisce.

  • Writers and journalists will be interested to learn the Columbia Journalism School will present a discussion about instructional technology for the 2008-09 academic year. Get all your technology questions answered by sending them in advance to: dos@jrn.columbia.edu. Today’s speakers are Larry Fried, Assistant Dean for Technology, and Craig Hettich Broadcast Technology Manager. That’s this morning at 12:30 p.m.
  • Tonight on After Dark Radio, who killed Mia Zapata? Guests Kerri O’Kane and Jessica Bender discuss their film “The Gits“: The rousing and heartbreaking story of Seattle band The Gits, whose promising start was cut short by the tragic murder of spirited lead singer Mia Zapata. 10:00 pm. EST.
  • Natalie, from the MTV reality program “Legally Blonde: The Search for the Next Elle Woods” is a guest on Hollywood Hits today to dish on what really went down behind the scenes. This afternoon at 3:00 p.m. EST.

Not too shabby, right? And that’s only a few of the highlights. Do check out today’s On Air Schedule for a complete rundown.

Have a great weekend!
