“I was searching for a networking group that highlighted the positive support of women, but I couldn’t find one. So I took the initiative to found this one,” says Leslie Harris of Women On The Move, Inc., which boasts more than 15,000 members, and aims to empower and educate members of the fair sex in all their endeavors. A registered nurse by day, Leslie also co-hosts the year-old network’s companion BlogTalkRadio show, launched in April. Women On The Move has since welcomed guests ranging from The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Lisa Wu-Hartwell to actress Porscha Coleman to model LaShawnna Stanley to fitness guru Michael Gonzalez-Wallace. And on that diverse note, please put your hands together for this week’s SoundBits subject, coming to you live from her home in Boynton Beach, Fla., in all her networking glory…
Give us a 15-second pitch for your show—why should listeners tune in?
Women On The Move is all about bringing important topics, people and things to the attention of our listeners. Whether we’re featuring interesting businesses and business owners on “Minding Our Business,” books and authors on “Worth Reading,” or stories on “The Round Table,” we deliver honest, entertaining and educational information. We are everyday people from all walks of life, and we try to approach each topic from a perspective that everyone can relate to. We also (in between arguing) have fun. And we realize that there’s no right or wrong answer or point of view. Most of all, as a lot of our information is now coming from the internet, and we want to help give regular people an opportunity to be heard.
