It’s a Hard-Knocks Edition of ‘The Mix’

For most of us – the rich and famous included – life is often something short of a rose garden. Rather, it’s filled with hard knocks from the moment we enter the world until the moment we expire.

So this week, The Daily Mix has rolled a slew of hard-knocks tales into one big sob-fest. You’ll learn, for instance:

Jeremy Piven: I’ll Be Stalking the Audience at My New Flick

If you’re planning to catch The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard this month, be afraid. Be very afraid.

Not because the Will Ferrell-Adam McKay production is a horror flick. To the contray, it’s an outrageous comedy about a used-car liquidator named Don Ready who’s hired by a failing auto dealership to turn their Independence Day sale into a profitable venture.

CAPTION: "With this movie, there's nothing better than watching the reaction from people," Jeremy (above) tell us of "The Goods."

You may not know Doug Ellin’s face, but you know his work.

He’s the genius behind Entourage, which kicks off Season Six this summer.

So if you’re itching to know what’s in store for “the boys,” you should must tune into The Alan Levy Show tonight at 8 p.m. ET.

You’ll of course be able to call in and chat with Doug about the hit HBO series, which centers around fictional film star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and his motley pals: Eric “E” Murphy (Kevin Connolly), Johnny “Drama” Chase (Kevin Dillon), Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara).

And if you really want to look smart, ask host Alan Levy (whose “day job” is CEO of BlogTalkRadio) about growing up in the same Long Island neighborhood as Doug – where their families have been tight for years.

Loosely based on executive producer Mark Wahlberg’s real-life experiences coming up the ranks in Tinseltown, Entourage has won four Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe since its 2004 launch.

Doug, who also serves as an Entourage executive producer – and whose previous credits include the ABC sitcom Life with Bonnie – begins lensing Season Six this month.

New to the cast will be Gary Cole, who’s most recently known for playing Dana Delany’s ex-hubby on Desperate Housewives.
