Who would have guessed?
Ethan Suplee, who plays Randy Hickey – the portly, dimwitted brother of title character Earl Hickey on the hit NBC series My Name Is Earl – is best buds with Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio and Entourage star Kevin Connelly!
“The formative years of our lives, we spent together,” the actor tells Bob Andelman, host of BlogTalkRadio’s Mr. Media. “From the time I was 17 until now, those have been some of my closest friends.”
Ethan also recalls that the so-called “p—- posse” used a condo in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles as party central.
“It was called ‘the office.’ That was where we all hung out. And it was called the office because [another pal’s] mother was a manager of actors. She was based in Philly and if she had clients that would come out for pilot season or something, her L.A. office was run out of this condo,” says Ethan.
“Our buddy lived there for a short period of time, Kevin Connelly lived there and I spent couple of months there. So that was our home away from home – or our home, for some time periods.
“Then, a little bit down the line, there was this nasty lawsuit with this guy but I don’t really want to get into that. So [Kevin, Tobey, Leo and I] don’t really see him much any more. But we all are still close as can be.”
