Celebrating Ten Years of FLYing!

marla1

In today’s speed-of-light culture, it’s not very often we get to celebrate a 10th anniversary of anything, much less an enterprise that helps people make positive changes in their lives.

Enter FlyLady.  Now known the world over as a positive force in de-cluttering, managing your life, and finally loving yourself in the process.

But Marla Cilley wasn’t always the FlyLady.  Her journey to empower women (and men!) started humbly ten years ago, with an email newsletter out to a woman who asked for her helpful tips and reminders.  Then eight more friends requested her reminders, and by the end of the first year, she had 10,000 followers.

The FlyLady’s empire has grown to email reminders to over half a million followers.  She has authored bestselling fl_flylady10year books, Sink Reflections and Body Clutter.  Plus, we are proud that FlyLady’s resume includes (several) BlogTalkRadio shows, enough for an entire network, plus those of her pals, which are some of the most popular on the site.

Marla Cilley, the FlyLady, has made an impact on us at BlogTalkRadio.  Please join her 10th anniversary celebration broadcast today at 7pm ET.   Take a listen to some heartwarming testimonials from FlyBabies around the world, and call in to share moments from your personal journey with FlyLady.

FlyLady Praise Flows in Unabated

Of the more than 9 million Yahoo! groups, [Marla] Cilley’s is the largest, attracting people from all 50 states and 78 countries.

But don’t take our word for it.

The Texas daily’s hook?

FlyFest, of course – the Dallas event at which the home-organization guru was feted last week for her Yahoo! user group hitting an astounding 500,000 members.

One of the hundreds of Marla’s Yahoo! users (aka “FlyBabies”) who attended, Sara Owens, said that before hearing about Marla three years ago, the thought of visitors infused her with anxiety.

“She’d ‘stash and dash’: throw things in a closet or a drawer before company came, rather than putting them in their places. When company left, she’d feel ashamed and stressed about the build-up of clutter,” reports The News.

“Now, she can invite people to her house and feel proud.”

Chalk another one up for The FlyLady!

The FlyLady Tells Texans How to Get Organized

BlogTalkRadio’s own Marla Cilley, host of The FlyLady and Friends Show, imparted her organizational genius on the good people of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, last week.

In an October 2 appearance on FOX affiliate KDFW-TV’s Good Day Dallas, she demonstrated how to clear away clutter in the home.

The show also promoted Marla’s appearance at yesterday’s FlyFest in Dallas, an event celebrating her Yahoo user group hitting an astounding 500,000 members from more that 70 nations.

Nice going, Marla!

FlyLady Soars with Over 500,000 Members!

BlogTalkRadio would like to take this time to congratulation hostess with the mostest, FlyLady Marla Cilley, for reaching a monumental milestone. The FlyLady Mentor Yahoo group now boasts over 500,000 members from over 70 different countries!

Anyone who has tried to build up a community knows this is no small feat. In fact, Marla’s FlyLady group is the largest Yahoo group ever.

“I challenge everyone to throw away their dreams of perfection and just get things done,” said Marla. “My Yahoo! Group is a wonderful outlet to touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of people everyday, and in return I receive the gift of thanks from those whose lives have dramatically changed for the better.”

If you’re not familiar with our own FlyLady, Marla and her friends are empowering women all over the world to conquer the obstacles keeping them from operating at the top of their game. From overcoming “Mount Washmore” to getting kids to do homework as soon as they get home from school, Marla’s tips have decluttered many closets.

The timing couldn’t be better, either. Marla is hosting an event called FlyFest on October 4th in Dallas, Texas to celebrate this milestone and meet members of her vast Yahoo Group. Members of the BlogTalkRadio crew will be on hand to report live for those who can’t make it.

Thanks Marla, for all you do!
