Slate.com Editor-in-Chief Jacob Weisberg on Bush

Jacob Weisberg, Editor-in-Chief of Slate, an award-winning site “offering analysis and commentary about politics, news, and culture.”

Weisberg joins hosts Eric Olsen and Shaun Daily on BlogTalkRadio Today to discuss his newest book entitled The Bush Tragedy.

Weisberg was previously Slate’s chief political correspondent, and has written for New Republic, Newsweek, and New York Magazine, to name a few.  Weisberg has authored several books on politics including In Defense of Government, The Road to Chadville, about the 2000 election, and the Bushisms series.

Obama Campaign uses BlogTalkRadio to respond to caucus results

obama.jpgAs we witnessed not long ago, Iowa was a big win for Barack Obama, and his loyal volunteers were using BlogTalkRadio to comment and celebrate.

The Obama Campaign volunteers from California have taken communications with voters to a new level with their BlogTalkRadio show.

One of their many new media initiatives, the show has aired during the unveiling of caucus results to give real time reactions. In addition, voters can call in with questions and concerns. Never before has the election process been so interactive.

Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich Graces BlogTalkRadio

If you were around and listening to music in the 70s, you may remember Kinky Friedman.

541px-kinky_friedman_2006.jpg The singer/songwriter, satirist, and now politician has a larger-than-life personality and compares his social commentary through music to American satirists like Mark Twain. He has toured with greats like Bob Dylan, and is also an activist and novelist.

Friedman ran for as an independent for governor of Texas in 2006, and though he did not win, amassed 12.6% of the popular vote. He continues his activism, most recently hosting the “Concert to Save Town Lake,” to honor Lady Bird Johnson and her efforts to protect Town Lake in Austin, Texas.

Kinky Friedman joins TalkBackLive today at 8pm ET. Tune in for an interview that’s sure to be entertaining as well as informative.

This year, a compilation of songs written by Friedman was released entitled Why the Hell Not, featuring crooners like Lyle Lovett and Willie Nelson.

As election time nears, the political arena gets hotter and hotter, and BlogTalkRadio’s political talk is no exception.
