Sports Docket, System Showdown Share Anniversary

We have been celebrating many anniversaries at BlogTalkRadio, but each one is meaningful to us. Broadcasting shows with us for one year means you are enjoying your experience with BlogTalkRadio and are as invested in our community as we are. We thank you and appreciate your hard work!

The guys of System Showdown and Sports Docket, Ethan Kwassman, Steven Ackerman, and Jon Scheiber, admit that their BlogTalkRadio shows began as hobbies. But soon these three 16 year-olds found themselves promoting more heavily as the quality of their guests and number of listeners increased.

The teen hosts would like to share a few words on this occasion:

To have been able to make such strides with only 12 months of Internet radio experience deeply demonstrates how strong, compatible, reliable, and irresistible a platform BlogTalkRadio is…[the hosts would like] to show their tremendous amount of appreciation for BlogTalkRadio by proclaiming Thursday, May 29, 2008 as their BTR Appreciation Day.

Sports Docket and System Showdown will broadcast dual Anniversary celebration shows simultaneously. Special guests will include American Idol winning songwriter Emily Shackelton, and NHL.com Deputy Editor Brian Compton.

Catch Sports Docket and System Showdown at 7pm ET.

System Showdown Asks: Will It Blend?

Ever wonder how businesses use social media channels? The Mac vs PC guys of System Showdown have a special guest tonight that will answer this very question.

wiblogoRay Hansen, producer of the popular YouTube channel Blendtec, will join System Showdown tonight at 8pm ET. He will be talking about the company, the production of the videos, the blenders, how the show as gotten so famous, and much more. Haven’t seen any of the Blendtec shows? Trust me, it’s worth a few minutes of your time. My favorites are the iPhone and glow stick episodes.

Blendtec makes commercial and home blenders. But they also make engaging viral videos that reach an entirely new demographic. It’s almost like they blend the concepts. Ha ha ha. In addition, they provide demonstrations of fun blender recipes. I remember I won a blender at an office party once when I was younger. I had no idea what to do with it so I gave it away. Had I only known.

Join Jon and Kwass live tonight for this as well as returning segments such as The Digg Effect, Techno Throwdowns, and Internet Inside.
