Film Festival Radio talks to Grimm’s Claire Coffee

Claire Coffee plays Adalind Schade on NBC’s fairytale mystery procedural Grimm. The show’s third season premiered on October 25th, and Film Festival Radio‘s host Janice Malone talks to Coffee about what it has in store.

Coffee praises the gory, horror-inspired show, noting that this season will be replete with “zombies and beating hearts being removed from bodies.” She and Malone also discuss Coffee’s football fandom and the direction that she sees her character taking this season. We will not see a “kinder, gentler” side of the witchy Adalind any time soon, Coffee saying that she remains “reliably evil.”

Film Festival Radio talks to the Voice contestants, part 2

Film Festival Radio host Janice Malone continues her conversations with NBC’s The Voice‘s advancing contestants. She begins by talking to contestant Tessanne Chin, who even before appearing on the show had a successful singing career in her native Jamaica. She credits reggae artist Shaggy, who she says takes an interest in young up-and-coming Jamaican artists, with encouraging her to audition for The Voice. They also discuss her experience as a backup singer for reggae legend Jimmy Cliff.

Ashley DuBose talks about her background studying mathematics and her coach Adam Levine’s tips for performing. Contestant Grey talks about the reasoning behind her mononymic name, a shortened version of the full Greylyn Paluszynsk, and the transition from performing in a wedding band to being a contestant on the show.

Matthew Schuler shares the advice given to him by coach Christina Aguilera, to get “alone time” with the material but not overtax himself, and his experience playing rugby.

Also interviewed are contestants Cole Vosbury, Monika Leigh, Ray Bordreaux, and E.G. Daily.

Tomorrow Will Be Telivised talks to the producers of The Originals and Familia de Circo

Tomorrow Will Be Televised‘s Simon Applebaum talks to Michael Narducci, producer of the CW’s The Vampire Diaries and its new spin-off The Originals, based around the family of the character Klaus. Narducci talks about what attracted him to the new show, saying that he loved the character and was attracted to stories about families. Narducci also talks about the writing process for the show, saying that the writing room is run “like a small business.”

Also interviewed are Jim Berger of High Noon Entertainment and Maria Badillo of MTV Tr3s, both of whom are involved in the new Tr3s series Familia de Circo, a reality program following a family-run traveling circus. Badillo says that she was drawn to the show because it had a “family dynamic” that she was looking to bring to her network, and Berger mentions the unique importance of circus in Latin American culture, and calls the show “a family drama set against that circus background.”
