‘America’s Next Top Model’ Whitney Thompson and Chenese Lewis Pose for NOH8 Campaign

Well, they’re at it again.

America’s Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson and our own Chenese Lewis—who last month raised eyebrows by posing nude together for the Hollywood Chapter of the National Organization for Women’s Fifth Annual Love Your Body Day—are using their star power for another good cause.

Earlier this month, the dynamic duo slipped into celebrity photog Adam Bouska‘s L.A. studio to shoot a series of pics for his NOH8 (pronounced “No Hate”) campaign, a grassroots movement supporting same-sex marriage in the state of California.

What you see here is an exclusive peek at Whitney (r.) and Chenese’s twist on the two-year-old effort. That by painting NOH8 on their bods as well as on their faces.

BlogTalkRadio’s Chenese Lewis Bares It All with ‘Top Model’ Whitney Thompson for Love Your Body Day

Here at BlogTalkRadio, we often refer to our many talented hosts as getting “up close and personal” with their celebrated guests.

But Chenese Lewis, host of our ever-poplar PLUS Model Radio, has taken that expression to a whole new level.

As part of her promotional efforts for the National Organization for Women’s Fifth Annual Love Your Body Day—which says “no” to advertisements and images of women that are harmful, offensive, disrespectful and demeaning—Chenese has posed in the buff with Whitney Thompson.

CAPTIONS: "Our picture looks like a photoshoot from ‘America's Next Top Model,'" says Chenese (left) of Whitney (right). "She makes loving your body fierce!"

Whitney, of course, made history in 2008 by being the first plus-size model to win America’s Next Top Model. And on Oct. 23, she joins Chenese as celebrity co-host of the Hollywood Chapter of NOW’s Love Your Body Day.

Both models will help raise awareness for organizations that help individuals with eating disorders—Whitney as an ambassador for the National Eating Disorder Association and Chenese as an ambassador for the Binge Eating Disorder Association.

Lisa: New, improved—and employed!

Lisa: New, improved—and employed!

We don’t impress easily, so believe us when we say Lisa Johnson Mandell‘s networking prowess is something the likes of which has rarely been seen at BlogTalkRadio.

As an L.A.-based entertainment journalist and film critic, Lisa spent 25 year rubbing elbows with such powerhouses as Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood and Ben Stiller.

But in her late 40s, while searching for work, she—as she puts it herself—”found that the precious few jobs available were going to the young, nubile and unskilled.”

“So I started a personal campaign to give myself a career makeover,” she says.

“I ‘Botoxed’ my resume, rejuvenated my image and Continue reading

Lily Tomlin: Edith Ann’s Alive and Well—and Rolling on the Floor

Lily Tomlin may be 70, but she’s still got the soul—and body—of a five-year-old, at least when inhabited by one of her most beloved characters.

Chatting on The wOw Effect, her wowOwow Talk show here on BlogTalkRadio, the Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning funny lady reveals how she keeps Edith Ann fresh after five decades.

"I do love to perform," Lily (above with her alter-ego) tells us. "It's a very enlivening, energizing, nurturing kind of thing that the audience gives you."

“She’s a kid. She lives in the culture, so she has to reflect that culture,” Lily tells host Julia Reed in a Goin’ Mobile edition of the show.

“And I usually do her as an improv in my act. I get down and roll around on the floor, as a five-year-old, and I have the audience ask her questions. And that keeps her alive.”

Lily, whose current road show is titled “An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin,” also discusses longstanding misconceptions about her one-woman appearances.

"Not only we are all strong black women," says Tamika (above with her fellow "AGT" hosts) "but we are women who respect each other."

“This foursome of Detroit-raised businesswomen, wives and moms,” Time reports, “has steadily gathered steam in recent months as their hot topics and smart, sassy on-air personalities have reeled in thousands of listeners a week, some as nearby as W. 7 Mile Road and some as far away as the United Kingdom.

“Taken together, they’re the masterminds behind a year-old show that sounds at times like a raucous, take-no-prisoners cross between The View, the sitcom Girlfriends and the casual chatter of four homies under the hairdryers at a west-side salon,” the magazine continues.

“The All Girl Talk hosts seem especially adept at, and keenly fascinated by, Continue reading

Becoming a Mother: From Party to Parent

Kristen Chase, host of Motherhood Uncensored welcomes author Rebecca Woolf to BlogTalkRadio for a discussion of her new memoir.

RockabyeMotherhood Uncensored hosts Becoming a Mother: From Party to Parent tonight at 9pm ET (click to listen), featuring author Rebecca Woolf and her new memoir “Rockabye: From Wild to Child.”

Rebecca makes the transition from life as an odd-job doing commitment-phobic, chain-smoking, irresponsible party-girl to life as a work-at-home mother with a different kind of social life. Throughout, Rebecca doesn’t relinquish the token qualities of her free-spirited, pre-baby self; rebelling against both the “soccer mom,” and “young mother” stereotypes, challenging herself to grow up without outgrowing her dreams, and most importantly embracing motherhood without a map.

Sound like you or someone you know? Join Kristen and Rebecca tonight for a lively chat about motherhood, uncensored.

As a side note, Kristen was recently featured and interviewed on The Today Show. Congrats on that achievement, Kristen.
