Blurb! Book of the Week: Laura Duksta’s ‘I Love You More’

As promised, we’ve returned to unveil the name of the author who trounced her fellow pitchers on last week’s maiden edition of Blurb! – the revolutionary new book show that’s anything but bookish.

Her name is Laura Duksta and her book is titled I Love You More.

CAPTIONS: "Love" the pitch: Laura (left) and Karen.

“This cleverly con- ceived flip story, which ends in the middle and starts from either side, will show you what love looks like from both a child and a par- ent’s perspective,” writes publisher I Shine, Inc.

Illustrated by Karen Keesler, the book was written for Laura’s nephew Tyler, and has since made its way onto the New York Times bestseller list.

Every Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, hosts Sally Shields – bestselling author of The Daughter-in-Law Rules – and Dr. Kent – CEO of Blooming Twig Books – review not books themselves but prerecorded pitches from five writers whose literary works are hot off the presses.

And each scribe gets a mere three minutes to convince the hosts that theirs is the book worth cracking. But if they succeed, they capture the coveted Book of the Week title – just as Laura did.i-love-you-more

That means Sally and Dr. Kent post the winning work prominently on the Blurb! website – just as they did with Laura’s book.

To top it all off, the winn- ing author gets a guest spot on the show, during which to pitch his or her book live to listeners worldwide.

Tonight, five more authors will duke it out for the title, so you won’t want to miss a moment of the action as Didactic Duo Sally and Dr. Kent get busy critiquing pitches.
