You know him as Sex and the City featured cast-member Harry Goldenblatt, the attorney who swept Charlotte York off her feet – then walked her down the aisle.
Or maybe you know him for his work on other hit TV series, like Six Feet Under, Law & Order and The West Wing.
Either way, now you can get to know Evan Handler as a long- time cancer survivor.
Tonight on The Stupid Cancer Show, host Matthew Zachary – himself a 13-year cancer survivor – welcomes Evan for a discussion on what’s being done for young adults with cancer on the patient-rights, health-insurance, education, employment, fertility, social-networking and other fronts.
Diagosed with leukemia at age 24, Evan, now 47, is also author of It’s Only Temporary…The Good News and the Bad News of Being Alive, a personal memoir published in May 2008.
Matthew, now 34, was 21 when he was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer. A college senior and aspiring concert pianist at the time, Matthew was en route to film school to become a com- poser when he lost use of his left hand – and was told he’d likely never perform again.
Thirten years, four albums and scores of concerts later, Matthew’s struggle to get busy living has inspired thousands. And in 2007, the budding entrepreneur founded the I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation.
Also joining Matthew and Evan will be fellow young-adult cancer survivor Kris Carr, a documentary filmmaker who directed Crazy Sexy Cancer.
