You may remember MC Serch as one-half of seminal rap group 3rd Bass, who earned two gold albums and a gold single in the early 90s, and paved the road for artists and MCs from a variety of backgrounds to break into hip hop.
The multi-talented and ambitious MC Serch now runs his own record and promotion company called Serchlight, and has Executive Produced music for hip hop star Nas among others. In his free time, Serch also volunteers for Rock and Wrap it Up, a nonprofit organization that picks up catering from concerts and delivers it to homeless shelters in neighboring communities.
Most recently, MC Serch is known for hosting the popular VH1 reality series The (White) Rapper Show, a competition to find, you guessed it, the most talented white rapper. Serch himself achieved a milestone when he became the first Jewish DJ ever to work at the Detroit Urban Radio Station FM 98 WJLB. Serch has long been a pioneer for rappers from diverse backgrounds to break into the scene.
