A Million Thanks for a Thousand Shows

Those of you who read this blog are no doubt aware of how many exciting things are going on here at BlogTalkRadio.

Since we first came up with the idea of creating a citizen-broadcast network in the fall of 2006, we have grown into the world’s largest talk-radio network. In all, we have hosted more than 325,000 episodes by tens of thousands of individuals, companies and organizations.

Alan: 1k is A-OK.

And on Thursday, July 30, smack-dab in the middle of the “slow” summer season, we set a new record by broadcasting more than 1,000 shows in a single day.

I couldn’t be prouder of the BlogTalkRadio team!

In all my years, in every business that I have run or worked in, I have never met a more passionate and committed group of people. Each of our departments – development, operations, customer service, sales and marketing, and programming and editorial – works tirelessly to bring our audience the most informative and engaging content, to say nothing of the digital-media industry’s most superior service. I am truly honored to work with each and every one of you.

I also want to thank the millions of listeners who come to BlogTalkRadio each month for their favorite programs in categories that run the gamut from entertainment to family to sports to politics to business to self-help to technology.

In the coming months, we will be improving the look and feel of the site while developing even more compelling content, and making the listening experience more user-friendly.

Meanwhile, if you have been thinking of starting your own BlogTalkRadio show, simply click here. It’s easier than you think – and we don’t bite!

Last but not least, I want to thank our more than 12,000 (and growing) active hosts. You know the commitment needed to produce quality, popular shows week in, week out. In particular, let me acknowledge those hosts who have been with the network since its inception – when now-seamless tasks like archiving shows and taking live callers seemed Herculean.

I want to thank all of you for being such an important part of BlogTalkRadio.

Now that we have achieved 1,000 shows in one day, let me know where you think the bar should be set next.

Congratulations on the daily milestone, Alan! You and your staff are wonderful to work with, and I appreciate the way BlogTalk and its listeners have embraced Tomorrow Will Be Televised, the Monday afternoon show I do on the TV scene. We just started our third year on the air, and for sure, the best is yet to come.
