Music Legends Anita Pointer, Kurtis Blow on BlogTalkRadio!

We are so pleased to welcome Anita Pointer, of The Pointer Sisters, and hip hop star Kurtis Blow to BlogTalkRadio. I am floored by the high caliber of talent of these guests that will be gracing BTR‘s airwaves this evening.

Kurtis Blow is one of the pioneer rappers in the recording industry, setting new standards for this genre of music in the 70s. In fact, Blow was the first rapper to record a full-length album for a major record label in 1979. One of Russell Simmons first managed clients, Kurtis Blow has opened for Bob Marley, and appeared in several films.

Join April Sims Arts & Entertainment at 7pm EST and, as April puts it, relax with living legend Kurtis Blow. And if you miss it, catch the archived show here.

Anita Pointer is the Grammy Award winning lead vocalist of the legendary group The Pointer Sisters, a quartet of real-life sisters, who sang many #1 hit songs during the 70s and 80s. Anita and her sisters won their Grammy for the song “Fairy Tale” in 1974, which Anita also co-wrote. Anita sings many genres of music, from R&B and soul, to Rock and gospel, and she is known for this versatility. She has appeared in numerous television shows, in film, and on stage.

Anita will be joining Darryl of Darryl’s Digital Edge tonight at 10pm EST! Darryl’s show often discusses American Idol, and Anita is certainly a success story to motivate other aspiring singers. Join Anita and Darryl live, or listen to the archive here.

What a treat! Don’t miss this opportunity to talk to these musical icons live on BlogTalkRadio.
