Uploading Podcasts Allows for Ready-Made Episodes of the Highest Quality

Here we are again with another useful and easy-to-use feature to share with those hosts who may not yet be familiar with it. Today we’re focusing on pre-recorded shows, and how to make them a permanent part of your archives.

The feature: Uploading podcasts as episodes.

Available to: BlogTalkRadio Premium hosts. (Not a Premium host yet? Click here to find out more about our Premium packages.)

Where to find it: Click on “Schedule Show” in the host drop-down.

How to use it: From your Episodes page, click the “Click Here to upload a show from your computer or import from an rss feed” link, which will take you to the Select Import Method box. From there, select the location you’d like to import from: your PC or an RSS feed. Then select your file and upload. Once file is uploaded, you’ll be taken to the Enter Imported Show Information page, where you can input the necessary info, including Show Title, Description, Tags and Category. Once that info is entered, simply click Submit and the show will appear on your profile page. (Note that the archive process may take up to an hour to complete.) For more details, check out the Uploading Podcasts as Episodes screencast tutorial in our Learning Center.

The benefits: Uploading podcasts as episodes allows you to post pre-recorded shows on your Profile page exactly as if they’d been produced live.

What hosts say: “As a Premium BTR host I love having the option to upload, edit and replace episodes. I’ve used this feature when my guests are not able to join me at my regularly scheduled time. Such flexibility allows for me to accommodate VIP guests by taping an entire show at their convenience then airing it at a future time. I also love knowing that, in case something goes wrong, I’ll be able to edit and replace episodes so that my loyal listeners will be able download the highest-quality content from my archives.”  —Tara McGillicuddy, BlogTalkRadio’s ADHD Support Talk.

Coming up: Be sure to check back on Tues., Feb. 1 when we’ll cover uploading edited episodes to replace the original version.
