Unearthing Gems from the BlogTalkRadio Archive

You may have noticed some changes to the BlogTalkRadio homepage in the last few days.  We’re trying something new!

In the past, the Featured Talk Radio Shows area has been used to spotlight recently-aired programming that was not spotlighted in other ways on the site, or that was happening spur of the moment.  We still have the ability to use this area for that purpose.

But since we have thousands and thousands of archived episodes on every subject under the sun, why not present some of our great interviews from the last three years, grouped by theme?  So far, we’ve showcased Broadway stars, summer dining, Harry Potter fans, baseball fever, and more!

Here is where you, the BlogTalkRadio hosts and listeners, come in.

BTR home page

If you have a great idea for a theme for the BlogTalkRadio homepage, we’d love to hear it.  Post it in the Comments section of this blogpost, or email it to hostpr [at] blogtalkradio.com.  (We may not be able to respond to every idea, but we are taking them all down!)

Please include an episode (or episodes) that you think represent this theme well, and we’ll do some research to see if we can make a go of it.  Recommend one of your own shows, a show of a friend, or a favorite show you have heard in the past!

We look forward to receiving your suggestions – and keep an eye out for your theme idea on the BlogTalkRadio homepage!

Features Editor

The Features Request Form is born!

Today we have released a new form which will simplify the Featuring process on BlogTalkRadio.

You can find the form when you login and hit the “Promote” tab under “Features Requests.” Or click here.

The form allows hosts to select a segment, describe why it should be featured, input guest information, insert weblinks to promotional materials, and upload photos all in one form.

With this easy-to-use form, you can request to be featured in a few different ways.

  1. Featured On the Homepage scrollbar (upcoming)
  2. Featured in Category (archive)
  3. Considered a Featured Host
  4. Request a segment to consider for Best of BTR

With all these different types of Features Requests in one place, it will be much easier for hosts to submit information directly from their segments, and easier for BlogTalkRadio to keep track and process your requests.

Please check out the form, and try it out! The form has fields for detailed information, but not all fields are required to submit. When you have submitted the information successfully, you will receive a message confirming receipt of your request. Its simple and cuts down on the (digital) paper trail of sending multiple emails.

The Features and Promotion team will always be available at hostpr@blogtalkradio.com to assist, answer questions, and read schedules you are working on. The Features requests, however, will have to be submitted through this form in order to be processed. You’ll have time to transition, but if you try the form, you’ll want to switch right away!

As always, since BlogTalkRadio is a live network, featuring decisions are made according to requests received and daily content. For this reason, BlogTalkRadio is unable to confirm featured slots in advance. Featured spots are limited and BlogTalkRadio has sole discretion about promotion and feature status.

Thanks for hosting in our BlogTalkRadio community! Please email us if you have further questions.
