SoundBits: Having Triumphed Over Depression, Elizabeth Grant Can’t Help Helping Others Do the Same

Some people were born to dedicate their own lives to improving the lives of their fellow men and women. While we can’t say for sure that Elizabeth “The Quantum Coach” Grant falls into that category, she sure seems to be an excellent candidate. As host of The Elizabeth Grant Show, the Chicago native helps listeners apply universal laws of quantum physics to spur happiness and prosperity from the inside out. That said, let’s get to the business of learning how to live better lives.

Give us a 15-second pitch for your show – why should listeners tune in?

I am told by nearly every guest, “Wow, that was such an interesting interview.” That really sums up my approach – which is to bring personal-growth tools to listeners, while cutting through the fluff. I strive to bring depth and new angles to topics you’ve heard about over and over but that never really sunk in before.

Tell us two things listeners would be surprised to learn about you?

(1) That I struggled with depression for most of my adult life until a few years ago, when I started applying the techniques I now teach to others. (2) That, in addition to being a spiritual mentor, I’m also a screenwriter and singer/songwriter.

Who’s your broadcasting hero?

Lin Brehmer of WXRT-FM here in Chicago. Who doesn’t love Lin?

If you could book any person on earth as a guest on your show, who would it be and why?

Esther Hicks of The Secret fame, because I have so many questions to ask her about quantum physics and the laws of attraction. She is the ultimate “unguru.” I’ve been very fortunate – Mariel Hemingway, No Matter What! author Lisa Nichols and many others have been guests on my show, not because I asked them, but because they asked me. Who knows? Maybe some day my phone will ring and it will be Esther.

As we speak, what are you wearing?

Pajamas! I’m drinking my decaf and thinking of working out soon.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever done while in the middle of hosting your show?

When I hosted Lisa Nichols, both she and a listener popped up on my switchboard as the opening music began. I didn’t know who was who. I unmuted both of them and asked Lisa for her area code, but she gave me the area code of the other listener by accident. So I muted her and unmuted the other caller! Then I asked “Lisa” a question, but we couldn’t hear her answer. I was embarrassed, but Lisa couldn’t have been nicer. It’s moments like those when you understand why Frasier needed Roz.
