SoundBits: Micah Jesse: Social Butterfly by Night, Social-Media Maven by Day

If you want to know who’s hot (before the mainstream media tells you who’s hot, that is), then Micah Jesse’s eponymous show is a must. The celebrity blogger, who was born in Atlanta and now makes his home in the Big Apple, has a knack for spotting up-and-coming talent. That could be because he rarely fails to show his face at the fiercest of goings-on, where he has been snapped with the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Mariah Carey Gwyneth Paltrow and Rihanna – who in turn weigh in for him on their faves. So with sounding boards like those, you can be sure Micah’s guest picks are worth a listen.

Give us a 15-second pitch for your BlogTalkRadio show – why should listeners tune in?

The Micah Jesse Show has access to all the up-and-coming celebrities! So far, I’ve dished with pop sensation Kat Deluna, T-Shirt-wearing diva Shontelle, Next Selection Entertainment’s newest star singer Krys Ivory, Aaron Reid of MTV’s Sweet Sixteen and VH1 Glam God winner Indashio. And I convinced every singer who’s come on the show to belt out a tune!

Tell us two things listeners would be surprised to learn about you?

I’m a huge nerd. I may be – as Gawker has dubbed me – a “socialgay,” but in my spare time I’m immersed in social media, like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube.

Who’s your broadcasting hero?

Ryan Seacrest, hands-down. He does everything from the Oscars to radio. He’s ubiquitous. Plus, his charming smile goes a long way!

If you could book any person on earth as a guest on your show, who would it be and why?

Christina Aguilera. Because, de- spite following her career for a long time now, I’ve never had the chance to meet her.

As we speak, what are you wearing?

A teal Joe’s Jeans sweater, Cheap Monday jeans, metallic gold Nike hightops, and a Zara Terez “Forrest Hills” bag in brown.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever done while in the middle of hosting your show?

Nothing crazy, but I did have to pause the show once because of a coughing fit. I couldn’t hide it – and I couldn’t stop!
