Tonight’s ‘Access New York’: Tamarama’s ‘Pottsy’ Potts and Jay Lyon Groove with Amber and Kelly

It you’re not ready to rock, do not tune into tonight’s Access New York.

But if you are, it’s the only place to be.

Because everyone’s favorite perpetual party girls Amber Lee Ettinger and Kelly Brady are welcoming Nicholas “Pottsy” Potts and Jay Lyon from the scorching-hot Aussie duo Tamarama.

MTV fan may also recognize Pottsy and Jay from the network’s new reality series The City.  And if you’ve really got a sharp eye, yes, Jay is the same Jay who’s dating the show’s star, Whitney Port.

But the boys won’t just be getting their – and your – grooves on.

They’re also helping to raise money for Music Unites, an organization dedicated to nourishing next-generation performers and audiences, by performing at the Norwood club in Manhattan tomorrow, April 30.

Also on ANY will be soul diva Niki J. Crawford, whose single Surrender rocks something fierce. Niki can also be seen in this year’s hit flick, He’s Just Not That Into You.

And she’s getting philanthropic as well this week, by performing in Manhattan this Friday, May 1 with the African Children’s Choir.

Proceeds from the event will go toward funding the Music for Life program at the ACC’s primary school in Entebbe, Uganda.

Access New York with Amber & Kelly airs Wednesdays at 7 p.m. ET on BlogTalkRadio. To check out tonight’s show, click here.

Amber and Kelly Welcome String Duo Set to Serenade Obama Inauguration-goers

Though they just launched last week, Access New York hosts Amber Lee Ettinger and Kelly Brady are already landing newsmaker guests!

Nuttin’ But Stringz.

Barack to basics: Nuttin’ But Stringz.

Tonight the delicious duo welcome musical duo Nuttin’ But Stringz, who’ll perform with Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and John Legend January 19 at the Kennedy Center in Washington. D.C., as part of President-elect Barack Obama’s weeklong inaugur- ation festivities.

NBS is comprised of brothers Damien and Tourie Escobar, both of whom are violinists – and native New Yorkers.

The red-hot act, which fuses jazz, classical, hip-hop and R&B, broke out of the pack this summer by placing No. 3 on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Also on tonight’s edition of ANY, nightlife mavens Amber and Kelly deliver their weekly club report.

This week’s pick?  Southside in Manhattan’s perpetually chic SoHo district.  Doing its nabe justice, the lounge was recently hailed by Time Out New York for being “ritzy” with a “British Colonial look.”

“I’m definitely going to Washington to party,” Amber (right) told listeners last week. “But not sure yet if I’ll be at Obama’s Inaugural Ball.”

“I’m definitely going to Washington to party,” Obama Girl Amber (right) said on-air last week. “But not sure yet if I’ll be at Obama’s Inaugural Ball!”

The club’s owner, James Willis, will be dropping in to explain, among other things, why he refuses to play top 40 tunes.

Meanwhile, be sure to check out “ANY: DC” – the “director’s cut” of last week’s debut edition of Access New York. You’ll not only catch snippets of the girls on-air, but see them in action as the take off post-show for a night on the town.

First they hit Planet Thailand (“PT212”) for dinner – during which the sushi-loathing Amber tries eel for the first time!

Then it’s off to The Cutting Room (which is co-owned by Chris Noth – aka Sex and the City’s Mr. Big) to see the wicked-cool Aussie band Tamarama.

And finally, the nighthawkstresses stop into Southside to preview the club for this week’s show.
